A bit tongue in cheek here but here goes...... Make sure you try at least 7 diets this year. Make sure you detox because a celebrity with no fitness qualifications tells you it will get you a flat stomach. Keep going back to the same things that you did before even though you could only keep them up for a few weeks. It is essential that you QUIT ALL SUGAR AND THAT INCLUDES FRUIT. Losing weight is very easy and can be done overnight. It really does happen that way.
Keep using the weight scale as your ONLY measure of success and forget about how you look, feel and act. Listen to your office colleagues inspirational stories telling you "this is the diet I have ever been on - it really works, I feel amazing after 3 days" even though it is the twelfth diet they have told you about in the past 12 months. Forget about hard work - success is easy, you can transform your body by working out for 3 x 2 mins per week. Ignore the advice of highly qualified, peer reviewed experts, dieticians and specialists but listen to the TV guy who figured it all out by himself and if it works for him it works for everyone else. Take a bucket load of supplements and then sell them because it has changed your life so it must work for everyone because that is what the research from the supplement company says. STOP EATING CARBS because they are the devil food. Wait, do you even know what a carb is? Only eat foods that are biodynamic, slow cooked, activated, cleansed, soaked, fermented, CLEAN and 100% toxin free because that is how everyone in magazines eats. Remember, if you train, every session must include a BURPEE, lots of jumping around and some kind of cool training device otherwise it is a waste of time. Remember, ONLY High Intensity Interval training works, even if you are super unfit and have not trained for years. Only listen to INSTAGRAM models who have never actually physically trained someone in their life and are probably not even qualified trainers. Listen to the philosophical fitness advice of an online GURU who has the life experience of a pre-pubescent teenager and whose major first world problem is their ideal selfie angle. Enjoy 2017 folks - my hope is that you do not get fooled by gimmicks and tricks and learn how to get healthy in a way that lasts until at least 2018. John - Jan 01st - 2017.
